In 1990s, the original East German manufacturer PRAWEMA made a restrike of this rare early 3rd cl. classification badge for Air Force Pilots ("Klassifizierungsabzeichen fur Flugzeugfuhrer"). With the original examples so rare as to be virtually unobtainable, the PRAWEMA copies of these badges are becoming harder to find and are now collectable in their own right.
