Brass gilt, measures 32 mm wide. The inscription on the obverse reads "For Faithful Service." Three white stripes on the suspension ribbon signify 15 years of service. The case has black plastic bottom lined with light foam rubber inside, the lid is in Plexiglas.
The medal is in excellent, near mint condition. Both pin attachments are clean and fully functional. The lid of the box is lightly scuffed; the scuffing does not obscure the medal inside.

The Medal (original name "Medaille für treue Dienste in den Kampfgruppen der Arbeiterklass") was established on 6 October 1965 in four classes: 5 years service (bronze), 10 years service (silver), 15 years service (gold), 20 years service (gold) with gold circular ribbon device (post 1978). The medal was instituted to recognize the long-term dedication and exemplary service of members of the Fighting Groups of the Working Class. These groups were paramilitary units composed of workers who were trained and organized to defend the German Democratic Republic (GDR) against internal and external threats. The medal was created to honor their commitment to the socialist state and their role in safeguarding its achievements.
