Postcard Near Chukotka Shores, 1976.
The size is continental standard 6" x 4", unmailable without a cover. Published by the Visual Arts Publishing House, Moscow, circulation 35,000, very small by Soviet standards. The artwork is an offset print of L. Baikov's 1972 oil-on-canvas painting, on exhibit at the Central Museum of the Navy in Leningrad, now St. Petersburg. The painting depicts a warship of the Soviet Pacific Fleet on patrol on a gloomy cold day at the far-eastern tip of Russia, the Chukotka Peninsula.
In excellent condition: no visible wear but tiny barely noticeable corner bumps.
