The medal displays trademark, beautiful quality characteristic of Mongolian medals manufactured by the Soviet Mint. This medal is the early version of the unnumbered Variation 1, with the green leaves nearly touching the inner edge of the blue enameled segment of the band. This medal is one of the first series of 1000 specimens made at the Soviet Mint in 1968 and gradually issued until the stocks were depleted in the late 90s (from 1998 onward, Mongolian authorities issued the new, numbered version that was ordered from the Soviet Mint back in 1974-75).

In excellent, near mint condition. The medal shows no wear visible to the unaided eye. The enamel, details of the obverse, and stippling on the reverse are pristine.

Awarded to policemen for bravery while apprehending criminals. Also awarded to civilians for bravery and saving lives during natural disasters. The medal is roughly a Mongolian equivalent of the Soviet Medal for Protecting the Public Order and is often referred to by that name.
