Special-Issue Government Postal Cover Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Record Non-Stop Flight from Moscow to Miscou Island, Canada. 1989.

The size is 6 �" x 4 �", with a pre-printed special-issue commemorative postal stamp. Postally unused, published by the Ministry of Communications of the USSR, circulation unknown. The stamp shows portraits of pilot Vladimir Kokkinaki and co-pilot Mikhail Gordienko, who made the 5,000-mile-long non-stop flight from Moscow, USSR, to Miscou, Canada in 22 hours 56 minutes. Vladimir Kokkinaki was an outstanding test pilot who set several records and was awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
