A set like this was most likely meant for distribution among local communist party organizations to propagate Stalin's speech during meetings or courses for party apparatchiks. The records were most likely destroyed during Khrushchev's de-stalinization campaign of the late 1950s.
In very good condition. Sturdily made to accommodate the weight of 21 shellac records, only the front cover shows moderate wear to the oilcloth holding it attached to the spine. Otherwise, there are a couple of small bumps to the edges where cardboard shows through the holes. The lettering, embossed on the front cover and finished in bronze paint, has lost most of its bronze luster but the paint is still in place, and the lettering is clear and perfectly legible. The bottom left-hand corner of the back cover is stamped with the manufacturer's mark, НАРКОМТЯЖПРОМ СССР, Russian acronym for People's Commissariat of Heavy Machine Industry of the USSR.
