In outstanding, excellent condition. The medal shows no wear visible to the naked eye besides a couple of minuscule dings to the edge that are almost unnoticeable without magnification. The raised details are perfect and crisp. The original "gilt" mint luster is nearly pristine and exceptionally bright showing only a minimal amount of attractive light patina, free of blemishes or tarnish.
Comes on an original suspension device, a late 1940s model in steel. The old ribbon is nicely preserved and sound. The connecting link appears to be of the period. Overall, a superb example of the Variation 2 medal.
