In very fine to excellent condition: light wear to the high points of the center medallion and a tiny bump to the edge of the white-enameled ring at 3 o'clock. The wear is barely noticeable and not detractive. The neck ribbon is slightly discolored near the suspension loop suggesting that it may be original; otherwise intact and clean.
The Order of Merit for Distinguished Service (Orden al Merito por Servicios Distinguidos) was instituted on 18 July 1950 and is awarded for
distinguished services to Peru in the fields of the arts, sciences, industry, or business.
