Tin, paint; 36.9 x 32.0 mm. The Latvian-language writing on the band around the star is "Western Kurzeme Partisans Gathering of April 1980". The inscription "LPSR 40" signifies that the event was dedicated to the 40th anniversary of Latvian SSR. Excellent condition. \
A very scarce piece. There were obviously very few former WW2 Latvian partisans and members of anti-German resistance who had fought in the forests of Kurzeme district along the Baltic coast of Courland - most of them local Jews and communists - that were still alive in 1980.
