Large format measuring approx. 17" x 24", printed on thin paper. Published by ВАПП ("VAPP", Russian abbreviation of the Latvian name for State Supply & Printing Enterprises Administration. VAPP was created in 1941 when Latvia had been annexed by the Soviet Union, reopened in 1945 when Latvia was re-annexed, and closed in 1946.
In excellent condition. There is a nicely repaired rip to the center of the top edge, and no significant wear elsewhere. The paper is slightly wrinkled, not very obvious or detractive.

The poster announces that the Riga Municipal Committee on Physical Culture and Sports has organized a sports tournament among all educational institutions of Riga including junior high and high schools, vocational schools, and colleges. The participants would be competing in swimming, track-and-field, volleyball, and bicycle racing.
