Notably, this poster was made for the first elections after Latvia had been re-occupied, or liberated, if you will, by the Soviet Union at the end of WW2. Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Latvian SSR decreed to conduct elections to the Supreme Council on 16 February 1947. Ten thousand copies of this poster agitated to vote for the "bloc of communists and non-party citizens" - in other words, for the communists.
