In very good condition. There is a good amount of soiling to the outer side of the ID, and a good amount of staining to the inside. Considering all the coal and grease reigning at a railroad station in the 1930s, this is only to be expected. The wear does not obscure any of the printed or handwritten textual material, and only one tiny stain on the forehead of the girl in the photo makes it less than perfect. The rest of the wear to the photo does not reach the image. The cardboard is thick and sturdy.

This is a very uncommon and rare document. Stalin's regime maintained strict military-grade restricted access policy in all important railroad places, such as stations, depots, bridges, etc. Evidently, even children of railroad employees required a photo ID for access.

Please note that the penny in our photo is for size reference.
