The records in the ID tell us that Fyodor Emushintsev was born in 1918, got conscripted in 1939. He served as assistant engine mechanic on an NKVD Naval border guard cutter in the Danube Flotilla. During the Patriotic War, he fought with the 305th Naval Infantry Battalion at the city of Azov, and then with the 144th Naval Infantry Battalion during the defense of Novorossiysk. It was due to heroic efforts of people like Emushintsev that the Germans were unable to push beyond Novorossiysk, capture the rest of the Soviet Black Sea shore and, possibly, eradicate the Black Sea Fleet. Emushintsev was wounded there in September 1942. From February 1945, Emushintsev served as NCO in the Training Detachment of the Combined Naval School, the Danube Flotilla. For his exemplary service, he was promoted to Petty Officer First Class and recommended for the Order of the Red Star. The decoration was changed to the Medal for Valor, with which he was awarded in August 1945. Emushintsev was also awarded with the Medal for Defense of Odessa (1942), Medal for Defense of the Caucasus (1945), and Medal for Victory over Germany (1945).
Petty Officer First Class Fyodor Nemushintsev got married in 1946 and was discharged to reserve in March of 1948.
