Top center is the centerpiece in the form of a red star and "X RKKA" in black, standing for the 10th anniversary of the Workers' and Peasants Red Army, and crossed rapiers. The certificate was issued to A. Nechayev, a teacher at the Leningrad Military Engineering School, for winning the fencing competition of the Leningrad Garrison championship, held in honor of the tenth anniversary of the Red Army, in two categories. For the victories, Nechayev was awarded with a silver jetton.

In excellent condition despite slight creases and bumps at the corners, hardly noticeable against the large size of the document.

The certificate bears the facsimile signature of Avgust Kork, Commander of the Leningrad Military District. A former officer of the Russian Imperial Army, Avgust Kork joined the Bolsheviks, became a Red Army commander, commanded the 6th Army during the Russian Civil War, held several high-ranking posts in the Soviet military, and was executed in 1937 during Stalin's Great Purge.
