The medal was designed by Sokolov and Nikishchenko, specifically intended for Party VIPs visiting Moscow's Moskvoretsky Disctrict for events celebrating the 60th anniversary of the October Revolution. The obverse features a finely sculpted bas-relief profile of Lenin. The reverse shows a carnation, the traditional flower brightening most of the artwork celebrating Soviet political holidays and jubilees, and the inscription against the backdrop of a banner, reading "In memory of the 60th anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution." Under the banner, the inscription says "Moskvoretsky District, Moscow". The maker's mark and year are seen to the right of the banner. There is another mark, impressed into the metal at the stem of the carnation, appearing to be a monogram combining Russian letters H and B, the initials of medalist V. Nikishchenko. There were 1,287 pieces struck.

In excellent condition. There is just one tiny imperfection on the reverse, right above the zero in "60". The issue box is in hard plastic, lightly scuffed but otherwise intact.
