Single page 8 ¼" x 11 ¾", front only. You cannot make this up! This КРАСНАЯ ГРАМОТА ("Red Citation"), printed in silver paint, was awarded to Boris Geyzik, an OGPU guard of Jewish ethnicity, in recognition of his exemplary service during construction of the Ural Machine Building Plant, and on occasion of the fourteenth anniversary of the Red Army. For his devotion to the cause of the revolution and the "conquests of October" (one of the buzz phrases early Soviets liked to throw out at every opportunity), the command of the 244th Squad VOGPU (Russian abbreviation for "Militarized Guards at the State Political Directorate") awarded Comrade Geyzik with a pair of pants and this honorary certificate. The citation bears the seal of the 244th Squad, and is hand-signed by its commander and political officer.

In very good condition. The mild to moderate wear to the paper at the edges, corners, and fold lines adds to the air of authenticity and age of the document, and is not really detractive. The printed text, handwritten entries and seal are bright, crisp, and perfectly legible. Even the purple inkblot that somehow found its way into this black-and-silver document, is but an odd accent on this odd document.

Please note that the pen in our photo is for size reference.
