Measures 11" x 14", 8 pp. Published by the Leningrad Regional and City Komsomol Committee for the local Young Pioneers organizations. The issue came out a day after the International Women's Day, a political holiday celebrated since 1910 and born from the March 8, 1908 march of women workers through New York City's Lower East Side protesting child labor, sweatshop working conditions, and demanding women's suffrage. In the spirit of the holiday, the front page shows a large drawing of two women from some cotton-growing Central Asian republic hugging Stalin and reading together

In the spirit of the holiday, the front page shows a large drawing of two women from some cotton-growing Central Asian republic hugging Stalin and reading together letters from Soviet Young Pioneers praising their mothers. The rest of the issue continues highlighting the role of women in the most unconventional occupations: from Spanish fighters against General Franco to Soviet radio operators on merchant ships, firefighters, members of the highest echelons of Soviet government, tractor drivers, parachutists, the list goes on and on. Articles about the activities of girls, members of the Young Pioneers, complete the issue, some of them rather bizarre by modern standards.

In very good to excellent condition. The newspaper is still uncut at the top and shows mild wear to the bottom edge and at the central fold line. No soiling, wrinkles, stains or any other wear. The paper is moderately and evenly age-toned, the text and graphics are bright, crisp and clear.
