Photo of Two Red Army Cavalrymen, circa 1944-45.
The officer in the foreground is highly decorated, wearing on the left side of his tunic an early Medal for Valor, another medal, and a Guards badge. As far as we can see the right side at this angle, he has an Order of the Red Star and Order of the Patriotic War.
In very good condition. The photo shows a few creases and stains but the emulsion is not broken, and the image is in excellent focus. The verso is also somewhat stained and has a doodle in the corner that pressed through but is visible only when tilting the photo to reflect a bright light.
This is a rather rare pie

This is a rather rare piece of photo evidence of cavalry still in play by the end of WW2, and will make a small-sized but notable addition to a collection of war memorabilia.
