Award Document for the Victory over Japan Medal, issued on 14 April 1946 to Captain Filipp Gaidar (Филипп Трофимович Гайдар).
Shows a stamp of the Central Military Railway Depot #3 and hand-signed by its commander. Note that the first name of the recipient is misspelled "Filip" in the document, with one "p" omitted.

In excellent condition, crisp and free of significant wear of any kind. There is some foxing, mostly to the back cover, but the document is very clean otherwise. The hand-written entries are faint but completely legible.

According to the information found on the Russian archival website Podvignaroda.ru, Filipp Gaidar was born in 1907 in the city of Cherkassy, Ukraine. He joined the Red Army

According to the information found on the Russian archival website Podvignaroda.ru, Filipp Gaidar was born in 1907 in the city of Cherkassy, Ukraine. He joined the Red Army in 1932 and in 1944 was awarded with a Medal for Combat Service for length of military service. He took part in the Patriotic War and the war against Japan as a railway troops officer, and remained on active duty at least through 1953. After the war, he was awarded with the Order of the Red Star in 1947 and Order of the Red Banner in 1953, both apparently for length of service. In 1985, he also received the "jubilee" issue of the Order of the Patriotic War.
