The raised details of the artwork are well preserved and crisp. There is a single thin scratch on the obverse and a few very tiny dings to the edge on the reverse, but no significant wear. The silver exhibits attractive even patina on both sides.
The medal comes on an early post-war suspension, a two-layer model in steel with an integral catch of the pin. The perfectly preserved ribbon is old, although of a more recent vintage than the medal itself.
