Travel Pass for Three RKKA Soldiers with the 8th Rifle Division for a Cattle Drive, June 1920.
Single page 6" x 4 ¼", front only. The pass bears the stamped letterhead of the Staff Commandant of the 8th Rifle Division dated [?]8 June 1920, and states that Red Army soldiers Kovalchuk, Pospelov, Matrosov, and Khatiatulin are indeed sent to accompany cattle en route to the city of Mogilev. The handwritten notation across the letterhead stamp records that the soldiers returned on 3 July 1920
In very good to excellent condition. Unfortunately, the interesting part of the left edge is missing but the only detriment of that is that we can only guess the exact date of the issue, 8,

In very good to excellent condition. Unfortunately, the interesting part of the left edge is missing but the only detriment of that is that we can only guess the exact date of the issue, 8, 18, or 28 June. The rest of the missing lettering does not obscure the meaning of any words of the stamp. The verso is unmarked and mostly clean.
Please note that the penny in our photo is for size reference, and think how diverse and complex the military is. Amidst all the gore, blood, death, victory and defeat there is room for four Red Army cowboys on a cattle drive! This little funny document will take a proud place in the "quirks of war" collector's display.
