Large format measuring 12" x 9". Leatherette-wrapped hard cover, 60pp., created by the Chief Directorate of the Air Force of the Red Army, published by VOENIZDAT, Military Publishing House at the USSR Narkomat of Defense. As is almost always the case with Soviet military publications, circulation is unknown. The album contains a 13-page manual on recognition of Soviet military aircraft, illustrated with drawings and diagrams. The second section is 42 pages of visual aid color drawings of Soviet fighters, reconnaissance planes, bombers, trainers, and sea planes as seen from various viewing angles, and their schematic silhouettes.

In good condition. The title page has a rip but no paper is missing, and it can be easily repaired with tape on the blank side of the page. The centerfold (p.27 through p.30) is separated from the binding staples but is present, intact and shows no damage. The cover shows moderate discoloration and soiling along the edges; the leatherette wrapped around the edges and corners is partly worn off and shows the cardboard underneath. The spine shows wear to the leatherette at the head and foot, typical for books pulled from the shelf by the top or bottom of the spine. Despite the long list of wear, the book has a strong presence, the wear accenting its authenticity and age rather than being a detriment.
