Honored Railway Employee badge, #176996, circa early to mid-1980s.
In gilded and nickel-plated brass, enamels, and lacquer; medallion is three-piece construction, measures 44.9 mm tall including the eyelet, 29.2 mm in width. Beautiful quality, especially for a badge of relatively late issue. The reverse shows a late-style raised logo of the Leningrad Mint and engraved serial number. Variation with a pin back attachment (more scarce than the screw back version of the same badge).
In excellent, near mint condition. The enamel and finishes are pristine. Comes on original suspension device with immaculately clean old ribbon.
