Porcelain Teapot, by Ternopol Factory, 1975-2006.
Very large, obviously meant for a big crowd of tea lovers. Stands approx. 7 ½" to the tip of the lid, 6 ½" wide at the shoulder, 4" across at the foot. Capacity 1.5 L (0.4 US gallon) with room to spare. Cheerful large polka dot design was very popular in the Soviet Union in the 1970s-80s. Maker marked on the bottom. This version of the Ternopol Porcelain Factory was in use from 1975 to 2006 (fig. # 706 in Volume One of Marks on Soviet Porcelain, Faience, and Majolica, 1917-1991 by Nasonova et al).
In good condition. The "3c" mark under the logo is the quality control rating

In good condition. The "3c" mark under the logo is the quality control rating. This explains some minor defects such as the under-glaze drop of porcelain mass on the spout, or a scuff reaching through the glaze shown in our photos. The bottom part of the handle looks like an attempt to re-seal a superficial crack. All this wear is not too intrusive to the eye against the large size of the teapot and the bright contrasting colors of the design.
