In excellent condition. All the components are intact, no wear or damage visible to the naked eye to the metal or enamels. The ribbon is perfectly clean and has retained its original moire sheen. The case is in excellent condition as well, showing just a tiny chip to the lacquer on the left side of the inscription. The lacquer is vibrantly shiny, the gold-plated calligraphy on the lid is pristine, the hinge is strong and tight, and the latch is in perfect working order.

The Order of the Sacred Crown, aka Golden Crown, Precious Crown, and Crown of Japan, was established by Imperial Edict on January 4, 1988, and is considered equal in rank to the Order of the Rising Sun. It is bestowed on women only, and in higher classes was conferred only on royalty and nobility with rare exceptions. The lower classes are used as an order of merit but are seldom awarded.
