Hungary, Medal for Excellent Military Service, Type 1, 1954-1957.
The medallion is in gilded brass and enamels; measures 39.6 mm in height incl. eyelet, 36.1 mm wide, riveted four-piece construction. Features the 1949-style state emblem in the center and crossed PPSh submachine guns at the bottom. Excellent condition. There are a few tiny, nearly unnoticeable imperfections of the enamel on the red star that appear to be factory flaws,
not a result of wear. Mild patina to the wreath adds character; there is no significant tarnish.
