ODVF (Society of Friends of the Air Fleet), Membership Badge, 1923-1925.
In brass with gilt and silver finish and paint, miniature version measuring 15.6 x 36.4 mm. Two-piece construction: the gilded star with propeller is a separate part attached by wires to the silvered wings. The inscription on the star is "RSFSR" (Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic"). The plaque under the star carries the letters "ODVF", the acronym of the organization. The quality is quite nice for a relatively small-size badge. This miniature or "lapel" version is more scarce than the typical full-size, 50-60 mm version.

In fine to very fine condition. The fragile red paint on the star is mostly worn out, although traces of it still remain. The details of the wings and star are perfectly preserved and crisp; the gilt finish on the star and propeller is clearly visible. A good amount of the original silver finish is present in recesses on the obverse of the wings; the silver plating is almost perfect on much of the reverse where it was covered by the washer. The original wires connecting the parts of the badge are intact and tight.
The steel screw post is original and of full length of approx. 11 mm. Comes with an unmarked screw plate which is of the period and probably original to the badge, and still washer, also almost certainly original.
