Early WW1 Lithographic Poster Farewell to Soldiers Going to War for a Sacred Cause, 1914.
Measures 24 ½" x 18 ½", printed on thin paper. The poster depicts a scene of soldiers leaving for the frontlines, bidding farewell to their loved ones. The imagery is accompanied and enhanced by the lyrics of a motivational song which acknowledge the emotional stress of leaving home and family, followed by a boastful promise to defeat the enemy.
The poster is in fair condition. The margins show considerable wear to the edges. However, the wear does not reach the artwork within its frame. Even the text of the song down below is only partially affected by the wear while all the word
