Both the medal and box are in excellent condition. The box shows almost none of the usual wear to the plastic exterior and only minor wear to the silver finish of the square plaque. The felt interior is perfectly clean and still has the original red cloth tape for easy extraction of the medal. The snap closure does not work anymore, a tribute to its typically Soviet quality, but the hinge of the box is completely sound.
