Army enlisted man belt, circa 1970s - early 1980s.
In genuine leather with a solid brass buckle showing the star with a hammer and sickle emblem. Fully extended, measures about 46" from end to end; will easily fit up to waist size 42" and can be cut or easily adjusted to fit smaller sizes. Stamped maker's mark of the Galant Factory on the inside is mostly illegible.
The belt is in excellent condition, showing just a few very minor scuffs and no other significant wear. The leather is still soft, pliable and clean. The buckle is without scratches, oxidation or dents.

The buckle of this type was initially introduced for the Suvorov military schools early during the war, and later was adopted for use by
regular army units. In 1970s-80, the "Deluxe" model of the belt in real leather (albeit low- grade) was issued to EM and NCOs serving in elite
"showcase" units or deployed abroad in Warsaw Pact countries such as East Germany. This kind of belt is scarcer than the standard issue Soviet
EM / NCO belts in cheap ersatz leather.
