Badge in Commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of the Order of the Red Banner Dzerzhinsky KGB Academy (VKSh), 1977.
German silver, brass, "cold" enamels; medallion is 36.6 mm tall (incl. eyelet), 31.1 mm wide, of riveted two-piece construction. Moscow Mint logo to the reverse. The depiction of the oak leaves in the band is also more reminiscent of a European decoration. Note also the absence of the school's name, even in abbreviated format.
In excellent condition. The enamels and silver finish are pristine. There is

In excellent condition. The enamels and silver finish are pristine. There is an attractive patina to the brass. The ribbon is old but nicely preserved.
The VKSh was a top-secret higher education establishment and law school exclusively for KGB operatives. The school is still running now under the name Academy of FSB of Russia. The award was issued in the anniversary year to faculty and best students of the academy.
