In brass, 27.2 mm wide. Features a portrait of Peter I, the founder of the city, with the inscription "Emperor Peter the Great" on the obverse. Commemorative inscription about the 200th Anniversary of the city (1703-1903) on the reverse surrounds the famous Bronze Horseman statue of Tsar Peter in the Senate Square in Saint Petersburg.

Very fine condition. The details of the artwork on both sides are generally well-preserved having only a minor wear to the high points. There is a dent on the reverse under the eyelet, not too noticeable or detractive. The toning to the brass is nic

Typical souvenir jetton sold throughout the city during the anniversary celebrations. Its charm (no pun intended) comes from the fact that the engraver successfully mimics the many coin and medal portraits of Peter that were struck during his lifetime, many of which bordered on the almost primitive.
