Excellent Submariner badge, early- to mid-1950s.
Brass, enamels; measures 45.7 x 36.0 mm; weighs 13.9 g without the screw plate. This is the last variation of the badge, "classic flat" according to B. Airapetyan's Breast Badges of the Red Army, 1941-1945 (Page 96, fig.4).
In excellent, near mint condition. The enamel is essentially perfect and has only a few microscopic contact marks completely invisible without magnification. The details of the wreath and submarine are likewise perfect and exceptionally crisp. The original gold plating is nicely preserved and bright in recessed areas on both sides, free of blemishes or si

The screw post is full length, over 11.5 mm, and includes an original screw plate marked "Pobeda Factory, Moscow".
This is a truly superb example of the Excellent Submariner 's badge from the early Cold War era, practically impossible to upgrade.
