Badge of a Prize Winner, USSR Boxing Championship of 1931.

Silver-plated brass and enamels; measures 38.5 mm in height x 32.9 mm in width, weighs 13.2 g without the screw plate. Very fine to excellent condition. The enamel is very well preserved - especially for a Soviet badge of its vintage - having only a minute amount of surface flaking and rubbing on the banner, and retaining a beautiful luster throughout; it is completely free of penetrating chips or other significant damage. The details of the wreath and boxer are perfect; the silver plating is nearly pristine having only the tiniest amount of wear on the highest points of the wreath and creating an impression that the badge is made in solid silver.

The characteristically thick screw post is original and full length, approx. 14 mm. It comes with a custom-made die-cast screw plate bearing the NKPS logo; although not original to the badge, the screw plate was probably replaced early on by the original owner.
