In very good condition. The nickel plating is mostly intact, partially worn off at high points of the artwork and along the edges. There are no significant dents, dings or scratches anywhere. The hinge is straight and tight, so the halves match completely when closed. The latch is in perfect working order and requires just the right amount of pressure. The spring of the latch has a couple of microscopic oxidation spots which have no effect on its function or looks. The inside surface of the metal shows mild pitting and small oxidation spots.
