Medal (Badge) of Honored Chemist of the USSR, late 1970s - 1980s.
Brass, enamels; medallion measures 33.6 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 33.1 mm in width. Riveted two-piece construction; the hexagonal centerpiece showing a retort flask and dropper is a separate superimposed part. There is the raised logo of the Leningrad Mint to the reverse of both the medallion and suspension device. In excellent condition.
A relatively high-level award, albeit awarded by the Ministry of Chemical Industry of the USSR rather than the Supreme Soviet.
