The poster is in excellent condition. It is completely free of tears, folds, or stains. There is only tiny amount of age toning along the edges visible only at close inspection. There is also miniscule edge crumpling but is nearly unnoticeable and of course does not affect the central image. Please note, the poster has been stored rolled and will be shipped rolled in a sturdy cardboard box or tube of appropriate size.

Among Soviet WW2 military commanders, the name of Vasiliy Chuikov is one of the most recognizable of all due to the huge role he played in the Battle of Stalingrad. He was born in 1900 in a village of the Tula province of the Russian Empire, not far from Moscow. As a young man, Chuikov fought for the Red Army against Admiral Kolchak in the Russian Civil War. Later, he served as military advisor to Chinese Marshal Chiang Kai-shek during the period between the two World Wars, commanded the 62nd Army at Stalingrad from its worst plight to the ultimate victory, accepted the Nazi surrender of Berlin in 1945, commanded Soviet occupation troops in East Germany, and served as Deputy Minister of Defense. In 1960, he was appointed Chief of the Soviet Army Ground Forces. During his illustrious career, he was made Twice Hero of the Soviet Union and earned nine Orders of Lenin, three Orders of Suvorov 1st Class, plus many other Soviet and foreign decorations.
