Navy Officer Dress Visor hat, dated 1980.
Crown in black wool with white piping; black cap band. Black plastic visor. The chin cord is in gold metallic filigree. The sweat diamond shows a logo of the Ladoga Headgear Factory in Leningrad and an 80 date of manufacture. Size 59 (US size 7 3/8 / Large) is stamped on the liner. The underside of the sweat band shows a faint quality control stamp in blue ink.
Excellent condition. Although there are signs that the hat has been worn, both the interior and exterior are extremely clean. The wool fabric of the crown is completely free of moth damage. The visor is nicely prese

of the crown is completely free of moth damage. The visor is nicely preserved having only a couple of very minor scuffs that do not detract.
An attachment prong is broken on one of the brass pieces on the visor, but the rest of the prongs are intact and provide a perfectly firm
grip. Interestingly, we found a sewing needle and some spare thread attached on the inside of the sweat band, as required by Soviet
regulations!
