Miniature vase for the 50th anniversary of the USSR, by Korosten Porcelain Factory, 1967.

Merely 1 ¾" tall, about 2 ½" wide. The verbal message "50 Years USSR Peace" is interspersed with symbolic representations of wheat and cotton. The color palette is very cheerful, the design is understated and fits well with the diminutive size of the vase. The maker's mark on the bottom was in use from 1962 to mid-1990s (fig. # 384a in Volume One of Marks on Soviet Porcelain, Faience, and Majolica, 1917-1991 by Nasonova et al).

In superb, excellent condition. The gilt is completely intact and not dulled, there are no significant scratches, scuffs or chips anywhere.

Overall, this is a perfectly preserved sample of an era long gone which will be a valuable, if tiny, addition to a collection of Soviet memorabilia.
