Red silk tape threaded through the leather sweatband for the precise fit, the kind extended only to generals. The sweat shield has the logo of TsEPK (Moscow Ministry of Defense clothing factory) and stamped Size 55 (Small, US size 6 7/8). On the suede underside of the sweat band, there is a clearly legible stamp of a leather goods factory in Moscow that served as a subcontractor.

Excellent condition. A nice overall patina of age but very little visible wear. There are a couple of very tiny moth nips to the edge of the crown near the piping in the left temple area, both of them nearly unnoticeable and certainly not detractive. There are no other traces of moth, and the hat is free of active moth problems. Both the interior and exterior are immaculately clean.
