Large portrait of Lord Byron, a linocut print by Nikolay Kalita (Николай Иванович Калита), circa 1970s, hand-signed artist's proof.

Large format, measures 20 ½" x 15 ¾" total. The image size is 15 ¾" x 11 ¾". The top left corner of the image features Lord Byron's last name in Cyrillics. The artist's hand-written signature in pencil is under the image, bottom right. Byron's posture is very similar to that on the most widely-known portrait by T. Phillips circa 1815. However, the mood is entirely different. Contrary to Philipps' Byron exuding young optimism with a hint of arrogance of the highly privileged, here Lord Byron appears to be in a troubled tempestuous mood.

In excellent condition. The image is pristin

In excellent condition. The image is pristine. The paper framing the image shows faint lines of discoloration, perhaps due to exposure to light at different points in time. None of those are detractive in the slightest.
