A gift set of 18 color plates with photos of Imperial Russian and Soviet era Tula samovars, in sleeve, dated 1991.

Standard postcard format, 6" x 4". However, these are color plates, not intended for postage. Heavy-stock coated paper sleeve with 18 high-resolution photos of Tula samovars, each with detailed information about the images on the reverse. Fourteen of the 18 samovars on the images are of the Imperial Russian period, going back as far as late 18th century. The last 4 are the best specimens created during Soviet times. The inside of the sleeve is very informative, telling of the history and fame of Tula samovars and the index list of the names of the samovars on all 1

In excellent superb condition. Microscopic corner bumps is the start and finish of the list of wear on the color plates. The sleeve shows minimal wear if looked at a certain angle and minute scuffing at the corners.

Tula is a large and ancient city about 120 miles south of Moscow, world famous for three very different products: Kalashnikov assault rifles, ginger bread cookies and, yes, samovars.
