Badge of the XXIV Graduation Class of the Highest Naval Academy of Submarine Navigation (VVMUPP), 1975 issue.
Beautifully made, massive badge in brass and enamels; measures 34.5 mm in height x 67.5 mm in width. Three-piece construction: the base in the shape of a stylized globe has a superimposed Komsomol badge at the bottom and a standard, full-size Soviet Submarine Commander's badge attached in the center.
Excellent condition. The screw post is full length, approx. 10.5 mm long, and comes with a Leningrad Mint screw plate which is likely original to the badge (high quality of the badge makes it likely that it was indeed commissioned at the mint rather than a lesser factory.)
