The medallion is in solid 14 K gold; the suspension device is in gilded silver. Medallion measures 28.6 mm in height (incl. eyelet), 25.1 mm in width; weighs 14.0 g excluding the suspension and connecting link; overall weight with suspension is 20.6 g. The medal is of exceptional quality, with magnificent artwork in high tri-dimensional profile.
In outstanding, near mint condition. There is no wear visible to the naked eye. The gilt finish on the suspension is fully intact and clearly visible under attractive patina. The ribbon is old but immaculately clean. The connecting

Established in November 1986, the Science and Technology Prize was the last and shortest-lived among the RSFSR state prizes. As a result, very
few of these were bestowed before the collapse of the USSR in 1991. The exact number of issues of the medal is currently unknown but it is
likely to be in the dozens and almost certainly no more than a couple of hundred (as is often the case with Soviet decorations, the serial
number may be well above the total number of medals ever awarded.) An exceptionally rare and interesting award.
