Tank Driver Proficiency Badge, 1st class, 1954-1961 issue.

Brass, enamels; 25.7 mm tall x 64.8 mm wide.

In excellent condition - one of the best examples of this badge we have seen in recent years. The enamel appears perfect and retains magnificent luster. At close inspection with a 10x loupe, tiny amount of surface flaking is visible on the numeral "1", but it is unnoticeable without magnification.

Practically all of the original black finish on the tanks is still intact; the nickel plating on the wings is pristine and bright. The fire gilt on the wreath and reverse is likewise pristine. The screw post is full length, over
