In German silver; measures 32.0 mm wide; weighs 17.5 g. The reverse is identical to the Soviet era Border Guard medals: the only difference is the absence of the bottom line with the letters "CCCP" on the reverse.
In excellent condition. With the exception of a couple of tiny dings to the raised edge that are practically unnoticeable to the naked eye, the medal shows no visible wear. The raised details are pristine. There is very attractive even patina to the silver finish creating an illusion that the medal is made of solid silver. There are no blemishes or oxid
