70th Anniversary of the Northwestern Border Guard District (KSZPO), commemorative badge, 1988.
Aluminum, paint, lacquer; 46.0 x 33.3 mm. Features the giant statue of Felix Dzerzhinsky, the founder of the Soviet secret police that later became KGB, erected in Leningrad in 1981 (unlike some other similar monuments, it remains standing to this day). This badge is one of several known variations of the award. Excellent condition.
