Order of Labor Glory, 2nd class, #3515, circa late 1970s issue.

In silver gilt and enamels. Measures 47.0 mm in height (with the eyelet), 40.7 mm in width; weighs 35.8 g not including the suspension device and connecting link. Riveted two-piece construction: the hammer & sickle emblem is a separate, superimposed part. This is the first version of the order featuring smooth reverse. Note the serial number which is very low even for the first version of the Order of Labor Glory, 2nd cl. The recipient was obviously one of the first people who became eligible for the second class of this award some five years after its institution in 1974 (initially, only the 3rd class was bestowed because being awarded with a lower class of this award was a pre-requisite for receiving the higher class.)

The order is in outstanding, excellent condition. The enamel is perfect and shows beautiful luster; there are no flakes or even microscopic contact marks that could be found under 10x magnification. There are only a couple of miniscule dings to the hammer & sickle emblem, practically no other wear to silver. The fire gilt finish is well-preserved and bright on all the gilded parts. Comes on original suspension device, a two-layer model in aluminum. The old, probably original ribbon shows minor amount of wear and soiling but is perfectly sound and very attractive (at buyer's request, we will add a length of brand-new unused ribbon.) The connecting link appears to be original and its ends are still joined with solder.
