In excellent, near mint condition, apparently unissued. Original mint marked screw plate is included. Much of the logging in the Soviet Union was done by prison camp inmates or recently released convicts

Much of the logging in the Soviet Union was done by prison camp inmates or recently released convicts with nowhere else to go. Not surprisingly, this badge is shown among the other NKVD and MVD prison labor awards in M. Rogov's History of Awards and Badges of MVD of Russia, 1802 - 2002 / p. 113, fig. 1.2.3.55; see also Avers 8, p. 124, fig. 630/.
