Flag of the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the USSR, dated 1983.
In wool bunting, the type intended regular sailing including combat missions - as opposed to silk flags for naval processions. 24" x 40" (approx. 2 x 3 feet.) The hoist sleeve shows manufacturer's mark and logo, a GOST state standard code, and a 1983 date of manufacture. This flag is similar to the flag of the Chief of Staff of the Navy but has two blue stripes at the bottom instead of one. The flag was flown only when the Chief of General Staff of the Soviet Armed Force was onboard the ship.

Most of
them are near the far end and the hammer & sickle
emblem
(shown in our photos), and none of are very
detractive.
There are also a few minor marks acquired in storage,
but no
significant stains, wear or soiling. The colors are
unfaded
and strong. This rare Soviet flag will display very
nicely.
